Today you are going to practise some Essay Writing!
It has now been confirmed that all GCSE and A’ level exams have been cancelled. The Exam Boards are in the process of drawing up a protocol to provide guidance for teachers on how grades are to be awarded. In History we will continue to analyse questions, but at the same time I want you to write essays for assessment purposes.
1.
Look at the following video clip. It is a brief explanation of how to answer 10-mark questions for IGCSE History – Paper 1:
(The example in this video is about a topic that you have not covered. However, the advise still applies to your 10-mark essay answers.)

So, previously you analysed questions and looked at / listened to revision material for “The Post-war Peace Treaties”. Now you need to analyse and plan the answer to the following question:
“The Treaty of Versailles was a fair settlement.” How far do you agree with this statement? Explain your answer. (10)
Remember to give both sides of the argument!

Write a really good essay answer to the above question. (Do this essay in Google Drive. Then share the link with me on Schoology, please.)
Remember, all work you complete will, potentially, be used to determine your final grade!! So write an excellent essay!
4.
Once completed, please send me a message in Schoology (use the SAME mail-thread…) to confirm that you have finished the work as set for today.
