-9-

Let’s write down the information for this project.

-10-

Below is a self portrait that Leonardo made and also a drawing of “La Scapigliata” (meaning ‘The Lady with Disheveled Hair’).

You are going to use a method called “grid drawing” to make the drawing. Each group will make one master piece of art.
Let’s first do some practice:

-11-

Now make one of Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings: Using the grid method, copy the part of the original art that you have been given.

Then put all the parts together to form the big picture!
-12-
Here is a famous person who lived at the same time as Da Vinci:

Columbus: 1451 – 20 May 1506
Leonardo: 1452 – 1519

Remember your secret messages from Leonardo to Columbus?

Swap with the group next to you. Each group needs to make (and apply) the turmeric mixture to read the secret messages!
-17-

Present your work to the rest of the class… You need to show your bridge model as well as your piece of master art.
(Plan what you will say to the class on your Project sheet.)

-18-

Each group will assess the final projects of other groups.
(Use the assessment forms to judge how well a group has done. You need a form for the bridge as well as a form for the piece of master art.)
